5 things you need to get right before ordering custom business signage
You've been asked to sort the signage for the new office. There's just one problem: nobody ever taught you how to buy a sign. Here's what actually decides whether it turns out brilliant, from the team who install these every week.
Ordering a sign looks simple. Pick a size, upload a logo, place the order. But there are half a dozen decisions hiding behind that, and getting any of them wrong is the difference between a sign that makes you look the part and an expensive lesson. The good news: you don't have to work all of this out yourself. That's exactly what we're here for.
Getting the size right (harder than it sounds)
Most people massively under or over-estimate how big a sign needs to be. A logo that feels large on your laptop can look lost on a three-metre reception wall, and one that looks bold on paper can be too small to read from the door. Size also depends on the product: a flat graphic, a built-up 3D logo and an illuminated sign all behave differently.

Tell us your wall size and what you want the sign to do, and we'll recommend the size that actually works, then show you a mockup so you can see it before you commit to anything.
Choosing the right product and material
3D acrylic, brushed metal, halo-lit lettering, vinyl graphics, printed wallpaper. They all photograph beautifully online, but they aren't interchangeable. The right choice depends on your surface, your lighting, the look you're after and your budget. Pick wrong and you either overspend or end up with something that doesn't suit the space.

We're not trying to force your project into the one product we happen to sell. We'll talk you through the options and steer you to the one that fits your brand, your wall and your budget.
Your wall, and the right fittings
Plaster, brick, glass, plasterboard and painted MDF all take different fixings. Get this wrong and a sign either won't hold, damages the wall, or simply can't go up the way you imagined. External signs add weatherproofing and structural considerations on top.

We work out the correct fixings for your exact surface, include a site survey on installed projects, and our own team can fit it for you. You never have to figure out how it gets on the wall.
Does it actually need lighting?
Halo-lit lettering and LED signs look stunning and can transform a reception or shopfront. They're also pricier, and they aren't always necessary. Sometimes a non-illuminated option in the right spot does the job beautifully for a fraction of the cost.
We'll tell you honestly whether lighting is worth it for your space, rather than upselling you into it.
Delivery, installation, and how it will actually look
The last mile is where a lot of projects come unstuck: how it's packed, whether it arrives undamaged, and whether it goes up straight and level looking exactly like the proof. A great sign fitted badly still looks wrong.
We handle packing, delivery and installation with our own London team and a nationwide network, and we don't leave until it's right. It's all backed by our 100% money-back guarantee.
