Bringing Playful Brand Values Into Starlight Charity
When Starlight, a children’s charity dedicated to using the power of play to support children and families during illness, approached us following their recent rebrand, the brief was clear: bring their new brand identity into the workplace and create an environment that reflected their values every day.
Having previously worked with Starlight on an earlier phase of office branding, we were able to move efficiently—focusing on creative execution rather than rediscovery. The challenge was to transform the existing office into a space that felt fun, welcoming, and unmistakably Starlight, while remaining a practical and productive working environment.
What Was the Brief for Starlight’s Office Rebrand?
Starlight’s rebrand placed a renewed emphasis on fun, character, and playfulness—key elements of their identity that reflect the impact they strive to have on children’s lives. The challenge was to translate these values into a professional workplace without losing clarity, usability, or visual cohesion.
The aim was clear: create an environment that would energise staff, reinforce brand values daily, and feel welcoming to visitors, partners, and supporters. The office needed to feel distinctly Starlight—uplifting, creative, and human—while still functioning as a productive working space.
Because we had completed the initial office branding during a previous phase, we already had accurate measurements, surface knowledge, and a deep understanding of the space. This allowed us to focus entirely on creative execution rather than logistical discovery, making the overall process both efficient and cost-effective.
How Did We Prepare the Space for Starlight’s Rebrand?
A successful rebrand always begins with preparation. The first step of this project involved carefully removing all existing graphics that had been installed during the previous phase. This included wall graphics, window vinyls, and printed elements that no longer aligned with the new brand direction. Rather than simply removing the visuals and moving on, we worked closely with the client to provide clear guidance on how to prepare the surfaces correctly.
This included advice on cleaning, patching, and finishing walls to ensure they were in the best possible condition for the new installations. By taking time at this stage, we ensured the new graphics would be applied smoothly, last longer, and deliver the high-quality finish expected from a refreshed brand environment.
How Was the Brand Brought Into the Space?

At the heart of Starlight’s new brand is a strong sense of personality. The visual language centres around fun typography, bold colour, and playful characters designed to bring humour and warmth into everyday interactions. Our task was to translate these elements into large-scale environmental graphics that felt natural within the office setting.
Rather than overwhelming the space, we focused on balance. Key areas were given strong visual moments—such as feature walls and glazed partitions—while other areas were treated more subtly to maintain clarity and flow. The result was an environment that felt engaging without becoming distracting. Quotes and messaging were carefully positioned to inspire staff and reflect the charity’s values, acting as small moments of positivity throughout the working day.
What Materials Were Used in the Rebrand?
To achieve the desired look and feel, we used a combination of materials, each selected for both visual impact and practicality.

- Frosted window vinyls were applied to glazed areas to introduce branding while maintaining privacy and light flow. These vinyls allowed playful shapes and characters to appear almost etched into the glass, creating a refined yet friendly effect.

- Printed wall coverings were used in larger areas to showcase the new typography and characters at scale. This allowed the brand’s personality to shine, transforming plain walls into expressive storytelling surfaces.

- Print-and-cut wall graphics were used for quotes, text, and smaller visual details. This technique provided flexibility, enabling us to place messaging precisely where it would have the greatest impact—near desks, meeting rooms, and communal spaces.
Together, these materials worked harmoniously to create depth, variety, and visual interest throughout the office.
How Did We Minimise Disruption During Installation?

One of the key considerations for the project was minimising disruption to Starlight’s day-to-day operations. As a charity, their work is continuous and people-focused, so it was important that the rebrand process did not interfere with their ability to deliver vital support.
The installation was completed over two days and carefully scheduled to reduce noise, downtime, and obstruction. Using our dedicated Installation Services, the team worked efficiently and methodically, supported by prior measurements and detailed planning. Staff were able to continue working with minimal interruption, allowing the transformation to take place almost seamlessly around them.
What Was the Final Result of Starlight’s Office Rebrand?

The completed office now feels vibrant, welcoming, and unmistakably aligned with Starlight’s mission. The playful typography and characters inject energy into the space, while the thoughtful use of materials ensures the environment remains professional and functional.
Staff feedback has been extremely positive, with many commenting on how the new visuals lift the mood of the office and create a stronger sense of connection to the charity’s purpose. The space now acts as a daily reminder of the impact Starlight makes, reinforcing motivation and pride among the team.
Visitors to the office are immediately immersed in the brand, gaining a deeper understanding of Starlight’s values the moment they step inside. If you’d like to see the full transformation, browse the Starlight Charity Project Gallery.
What this Project Says About the Power of Brand?
Several factors contributed to the success of this rebrand. The existing relationship and previous phase of work meant there was a strong foundation of trust and understanding. Clear communication ensured expectations were aligned at every stage, from preparation through to installation.
Equally important was the collaborative approach. By working closely with the client, we were able to ensure the finished space genuinely reflected their vision rather than imposing a generic solution. Finally, the careful balance between creativity and practicality allowed the office to feel fun and expressive without compromising its role as a working environment.
Creating Meaningful Spaces Through Brand
This project demonstrates how thoughtful environmental branding can bring a rebrand to life in a meaningful way. For Starlight, the office is now more than just a place to work—it’s a space that embodies their belief in the power of play and positivity.
By translating brand values into physical space, the rebrand has helped strengthen internal culture, enhance visitor experience, and create an environment that truly supports the incredible work Starlight does every day. Projects like this are what we do best at Hyper Creative. Frequently Asked Questions for Starlight Charity
What should organisations consider before starting an office rebrand?
Before beginning an office rebrand, it’s important to understand how the space is used day to day, who it’s for, and what brand values need to be communicated. Clear planning, surface preparation, and alignment with wider brand guidelines help ensure the rebrand feels cohesive, practical, and long-lasting.
Why are window frosted vinyls effective in office branding projects?
Window frosted vinyls are a popular choice in office branding because they balance privacy with light flow. They allow branding to be introduced on glazed areas without blocking natural light, while also adding subtle visual interest and reinforcing brand identity throughout the space.
How do printed wall coverings enhance an office rebrand?
Printed wall coverings are ideal for large areas where brand personality needs to make an impact. They allow colour, typography, and graphics to be applied at scale, turning blank walls into storytelling surfaces that support culture, values, and employee engagement during an office rebrand.
Can an office rebrand be completed without disrupting daily operations?
Yes. With careful planning, clear scheduling, and experienced installation teams, an office rebrand can be delivered with minimal disruption. Working in phases and using efficient installation methods helps ensure teams can continue working while the space is transformed around them.
