Product feature: Word Cluster
Word clusters are amongst the most popular products we sell and are most often sold to companies looking to add a personalised design feature to their space.
Our word clusters are almost entirely customisable as you can choose the words, font, colours and you have access to liaise with our design team to create the perfect interior design touch for your workplace. However, since launching our word cluster, we have noticed that that our customers often ask similar questions when looking at customising this product.
As a result we thought we would take a look at a few of these questions now.
What is a word cluster?
A word clusters can also be known as a word cloud or a wordle, although I am sure there are many more names, it is simply a series of words grouped together in a shape to create a design.
Why get a word cluster?
Word clusters are a fantastic design tool that allows you to organically present and reinforce your organisation’s values and vision along with any other significant terms that your company sees as important.
Showcasing this terminology effortlessly communicates to your team and visitors who you are as an organisation in a way that doesn’t just communicate what you do i.e. your products and services, but highlights the multicoloured facets of the business. This dynamic side is what increases job satisfaction, staff retention and attracts the best talent, so it is recommended to show this off wherever you can
What words should I use?
This is a personal one, but we recommend that you take some time and consult with your team to create a list of words, terms and phrases that best represent you as a company. This list might include your values, vision keywords, products, services, character traits and organisational buzzwords, but it is dependant on what you want the graphic to communicate.
TIP: We recommend that you create your list in three sections: primary, secondary and tertiary as this allows our design team to place different emphasis on these terms when creating the design.
What font and colours should I pick?
We would always suggest that you use the fonts and colours stated within your branding guidelines as this ensures that the graphics produced act as part of your holistic branding.
If you do not have any guidelines we recommend replicating the font and colours you most often use on your website or when creating business documents.
Where is a good place to stick a word cluster?
As with all of our graphics they are perfectly suited to many different areas and rooms. That being said, the only place we do not recommend for word clusters to go is in any break out spaces, canteens, kitchens or spaces specifically designed for staff to take breaks in. The reason for this is that these areas should be spaces to switch off, but if your team are engaging with corporate keywords this can negatively impact their ability to relax, which is not beneficial to the company as a whole.
